John Gray
Reflecting back to childhood, I can vividly remember the springtime blossoms forming on our apple tree. Living in a New York suburb, it was a testimony to the abundance that summer would bring and the ripe fruit that would become our fall feast. The cycle of life is ever present in our lives, and when the cycle is complete, we must take what is ours. Yet how is it that each year, so many fallen apples were left behind uneaten?
In my conversation with author John Gray, I was put on notice that the harvest is here. In other words, it is now time to claim our booty. We have tilled the fertile ground, watered our consciousness and arrived at a time when practical miracles are ripe for the picking. Will you take yours?
I spent forty five minutes with the Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus guru and learned about the vital life force that not only surrounds us… but lives within us. This natural energy is always available. It is something that monks and visionaries spent years seeking to attain. As John explained to me, “ In one day we can now achieve a level of spiritual awareness that would have taken years in the past. Our world has seen incredible advances in technology, medicine, the economy and society during the last 50 years. This has transformed our collective consciousness. We are in an accelerated state of awareness that allows us to embrace a new potential for change.”
“Living in a crisis of stress,” as he puts it, “the outer changes in our world also increase the potential for inner change. One supports the other.” I queried him about spiritual models that have been associated with religion and he offered a new approach to spirituality. As he explained it to me, “We must shift our old concept of God, religion and spirituality to a new model of spirituality. We must eliminate all beliefs relating to a punishing, judging and hurting God and instead, replace it with a new understanding: that which includes our ability to access “natural energy”. This energy heals, comforts, brings peace of mind, opens our hearts and can allow us to forgive. It also can heal a child’s tummy ache and help us feel vibrantly healthy.” “We all have the ability to create practical miracles,” he continued, “if we embrace the belief that we can create success, love and good health in our lives.”
There are nine guiding principals to follow:
1) Believe as if miracles are possible
2) Live as if you are free to do what you want
3) Learn as if you are a beginner
4) Love as if for the first time
5) Give as if you already have what you want
6) Works as if money doesn’t matter
7) Relax as if everything will be o.k.
8) Talk to God as if you are being heard
9) Feast as if you can have whatever you want.
I loved my conversation with John Gray and yet, I was skeptical. “What will really stick?” I asked, “ How can I keep what I get and be motivated to use it? What is really going to make a difference in our lives?” He was blunt. “You have to have the experience of God, in a loving way. We now have this capacity, and it is available 24/7. God is love and when you experience just one moment of this energy, when you know it and can recall it, it will revitalize you and reconnect you to the energy of the Universe. Once you have the experiential familiararity with this presence of natural energy, you can always call on it for help.”
Having once had this form of interface with the divine energy, I knew what he was saying but I also knew that there are often blockages that limit access to this space. I asked him how to keep these energy channels open. Expecting a dissertation on mediation, prayer, nutrition and exercise, he blurted out….” Drink water.” “ What”, I said? “Drink water Liz. You see, as we bring in the new energy, water will clear out the old. A natural purification will take place and we must flush these toxins out. The water will allow you to go deeper into your own spiritual practice and open the flow for more energy to travel through you. As simple and as silly as it sounds, drink water, call on your own natural energy resources, and remember when you ask and you shall receive. Follow the nine principals and you will experience lasting love, increasing success and vibrant health.” It’s our time! So take part in the bounty Mars and Venus because it is a glorious new age continuously filled with springtime blossoms.
Known to many as a self-help guru, John Gray spent nine years as a celibate Hindu monk where he learned the practical benefits of meditation and self-healing practices.
